Student Council Supports Mercy Children's Hospital

An alumni basketball game is being planned for March 25th (7:00 PM) between alumni from Eastwood HS and Otsego HS to benefit Mercy Children's Hospital. Student Councils from both buildings are organizing and working at the event. In addition to the entertainment of the game, there will also be a silent auction to raise additional funds to support this worthy cause.

For more details, please feel free to contact Mrs. Karen Smoyer (ksmoyer@eastwoodschools.org). We appreciate Mrs. Smoyer, the Student Councils from both buildings, and all of the participants in this upcoming activity.

EHS Choir Rocks the "Q" Before CAVS Game

Members of the Eastwood HS Choir had a unique opportunity to sing our national anthem prior to the CAVS vs. Miami Heat basketball game on Monday, March 5th. The chance to be on the floor during the opening activities of a NBA game as well as getting a "behind-the-scenes" look at how everything is prepared for a performance was a wonderful experience for the students. Singing our national anthem is quite an honor, and having the opportunity to be announced and sing in front of a crowd of 20,562 fans was even more memorable.

"Eagle Buddies" Combine Talents for Project

Honors English 12 students have been working on their Cheyenne Indian movie scripts with the help of the EAGLE student parents. The seniors have been working with their EAGLE buddies for months teaching them about the Cheyenne Indians and the ways to solve the challenges of their time. Students were also challenged to solve a fictional invasion of the Rutherian aliens by creating policies to protect their towns. This simulated the take-over of the Cheyenne Indians' land.
