Congratulations to the "Class of 2017"

We wish the "Class of 2017" the best as they move forward with the careers beyond Eastwood High School. Although they've left the nest as an "Eagle", they will always be welcome to return for a visit to share their future experiences.

Best of luck to our entire "Class of 2017".

Eagle Buddy Program a Huge Success

Throughout the school year, several seniors took time to work in the classroom setting offering support and help with projects to the 5th Grade Eagle Program. The "Eagle Buddy Program" became a popular and exciting activity for our high school students to work with those from the elementary school program.

The picture below features those in our Class of 2017 who truly reflected the "Eagle Way" by working with their "Eagle Buddy" during this school year.

Key Calendar Dates to Start the 2017/18 School Year

Although we are just entering summer break, it's never too early to begin thinking about some key dates that will help everyone start off the 2017/18 school year successfully.  After all of the summer picnics, pool parties, and summer vacations - it'll soon be time to start another exciting year at Eastwood High School....

Summer Office Hours are daily from 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM should the need arise to contact the high school office. Please, keep in mind that the main office will be closed from July 2nd - July 9th due to summer cleaning. There may be additional days throughout the summer months in which the main office will be closed this summer. Should you need to contact someone, please call ahead (419-833-3611) and leave a message or send an email directly to the individual as needed.

Alumni Chat a Success

On Tuesday, May 16th the high school English and Guidance Departments hosted an Alumni Chat during the junior and senior English periods in the Media Center. Students were able to use the entire period to ask questions of the alumni regarding the do's and don'ts of college life in order to help them in their college and career search process. On behalf of Eastwood High School's English and Guidance Departments we wanted to thank the following students for coming back and helping us with this event. Most of these students stayed the entire day:

  1. Mackenzie Albright '16 attending University of Toledo
  2. Samuel Church '16 attending Ohio Christian University
  3. Sierra Corns '15 attending University of Toledo
  4. Elena Kirkbride '15 attending Bowling Green State University

EHS Recycles

Throughout the course of the 2016/17 school year, students and staff at Eastwood HS took time to collect recyclable materials that would otherwise have made it into landfills. With the help of the students and Mr. Keith Madaras (Science teacher), we were able to further our efforts to support this program. Overall, here are the past two years worth of results to show what has not gone into our Waste Management trash dumpster:

  • 2015/16 - 77 bags plastic, 14 bags aluminum
  • 2016/17 - 105 bags plastic, 19 bags aluminum

We appreciate all of the collective efforts of everyone and look forward to building upon our success as we move forward into the upcoming school year.
