Eastwood International/Domestic Travel 5 Year Forecast Meeting - October 23

As our world becomes increasingly interconnected, it is critical for our students to become more culturally aware, explore new ideas and grow their potential. Students who participate in this opportunity will grow their social skills, connect to their studies outside of the classroom and set themselves apart when applying to college and their future careers.  Grades 4th ~ 12th are invited to an informational meeting  on Monday, October 23rd, 2017 in the HS Auditorium at 7:00 pm.   With that being said, a 4th grader will be a freshman in 2022.  This forecast for our global travel plan will give parents and students a realistic opportunity to plan and save for the trip they choose to go on.

Please email: Mrs. Moorman at: jmoorman@eastwoodschools.org if you would like to attend the meetng or if you cannot make the meeting but would like more inforamtion.

Eastwood's very own Addisyn Burdette is a natural in front of the green screen!   Addy's love of science and meteorology led her to this great opportunity to team up with NBC 24 meteorologist Kimberly Newman for a live weather segment.  After spending time with Kimberly working on the forecast and practicing in front of the green screen, Addy jumped right in with a "shout out" to Eastwood friends and teachers.  View the video recording of the forecast.  Outstanding job, Addy!

Thanksgiving Arrangements

The 5th & 6th Grade Student Council at Eastwood Middle School designed fall floral arrangements for the residents of Portage Valley for Thanksgiving. Each student council member created and designed their own unique centerpiece and then helped deliver the arrangements to the residents on Monday, November 23rd. The arrangements were placed in the dining halls for all to enjoy.  In addition, the 5th & 6th grade student body made over 200 Thanksgiving cards for the residents too. Some of the cards were hand delivered while others were placed in the dining halls or in the residents' mailboxes. The students really enjoyed visiting with the residents and wishing them a "Happy Thanksgiving!"
