The Scholastic Book Box came this week. Third grade students received a free book due to the generosity of sponsors. Each child has a sponsor that donated a small amount to enable each child to receive a free book every month.
The Eastwood Basketball coaching staff and EHS team is hosting an instrutional program for boys in 1st-4th grades. Click here to access the registration link and more details.
Mrs. Moorman is looking for students who want to work with residents at Otterbein Senior Living Community in conjunction with Miami University OMA art therapy program. The program is implemented in group sessions: students will be working with seniors with dementia, one day a week (TBA) with the assistance of trained volunteers working on a one-to-one basis. The art-making sessions culminate in a gallery exhibition celebrating the artists’ accomplishments while educating the public about the creative capacities of people with dementia. If you need volunteer hours, this is a really unique and rewarding volunteer opportunity, Transportation available, please see Mrs. Moorman no later than Oct.12th for more details.

Today the 2nd grade had some guest readers in the classroom. Jonna Nissen, Maddie Finley, Kylie O'Brien, Lukas Wright, and Justin Vollmar, senior FFA students. They read Inside a Cow by Catherine Friend to all second graders. The students enjoyed having older Eastwood students read the book and were able to ask some questions about agriculture and FFA.
