The scholarship process has been streamlined. The Eastwood Educational Foundation has created a list of Foundation Scholarships. All of these foundation scholarships will use the same general form for the application process. This document is provided as a downloadable file that can be saved and used for multiple scholarship applications. A list of foundation scholarships can be found by clicking the button found below. The page also provides access to the application form.

 Local Scholarships need a "special" form. The forms are available in the guidance hallway and check for specific deadline dates. Below you will find a list of these special local scholarships.

The following scholarships are available through the Eastwood Educational Foundation. Please note that these Foundation scholarships have an application form that is available on the Eastwood website (www.eastwoodschools.org). Applications are due by March 10th.

Thomas E. Bockbrader Memorial Scholarship Any area Preference will be given to students who have experienced the loss of a parent through death or other adversity in their life.
The Joel Black Memorial Scholarship

First Preference: Aviation

Second Preference: Any area of science

Betty Lou Bruning Memorial Scholarship Medical-related field or any major in education

Preference will be given to an athlete who has maintained a 3.0 GPA. The applicant should include the following information in Item 1 on the application form: (1) how involvement in sports affected your life, (2) benefits gained from athletic participation, (3) a highlight from your sports career and the impact that it had on your life

 
Gertrude & Joseph Carpenter Scholarship Any area

Preference will be given to students attending two-year colleges, technical schools, nursing schools, etc.

 
Class of 1972 Scholarship Any area

No specific criteria

 
Thomas A. Conkle Memorial Scholarship Any area

Preference will be given to a student who was involved in athletic activities during high school, participated as a leader in organizations, and maintained a high level of academic achievement.

 
Deb Dauer Engineering Scholarship Fund Engineering

First choice will be a $1500.00 scholarship awarded to a female EHS Senior majoring in engineering and attending the University of Toledo.The scholarship will be $1500.00 for the awardee's Freshman and Sophomore years. 

Second choice will be a scholarship awarded to to an EHS senior majoring in engineering and attend the University of Toledo.

Third choice will be a  female EHS senior majoring in a STEM field of study and attending the University of Toledo.
Eagle Athletic & Citizenship Scholarship Fund Any area Scholarship will be awarded to graduates demonstrating environmental stewardship, integrity, community citizenship, diversity, and health and safety.  Preference will be given to those who participate in sports, clubs, or other school activities.

Eastwood Mathematics Scholarship(In memory of Helen Rolfes, Herbert Hollister, and Melissa Fields Osborne

 

 Any area Preference will be given to a student who has demonstrated an interest in mathematics by successfully completing college preparatory math courses.
Eastwood Retired Teacher's Scholarship Education Majoring in any area or level of education.

 

Brian Eisenhour Memorial Scholarship

 Business or Automotive or Mechanic No specific criteria

 

Farmer Agricultural Scholarship

 Agriculture None
Friends of the Pemberville Library Scholarship Any area Student must demonstrate their love or use of the library,i.e.,recalling childhood times at the library, checking out books, researching at the library, volunteering at the library, signing up for libarry projects, enjoying specific library programs, using digital libraries, etc.

The Friess Family Scholarship

 Any area

 

Preference will be given to a student with a 3.0 GPA or better and demonstrating financial need.

Frobose Agricultural Entrepreneurial Scholarship

 

 Agriculture To encourage studetns who dream of having their own business to pursue their vision
Dallas Gardner Scholarship Any area at a four-year college Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated leadership in the classroom, in extracurricular activities, and in the community and have a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Dave Gerwin Memorial Scholarship

 

 Any Area  Preference will be give to students attending Owens Community College.

Jim Gracyk Scholarship

 

 Any area Preference will be given to a varsity athlete (at least 2 letters in the same sport) with a 3.3 GPA or higher.

Karen Hagemeyer-Wohler Scholarship

 

 Criminal Justice or related field Preference will be given to students demonstrating scholastic aptitude and financial need.

Hahn-Geldin Memorial Scholarship (In memory of Thomas A. Hahn and Joyce A. Geldin)

 

 Any area None
Clarence Heckman Science Scholarship Any area

Preference will be given to two students who have demonstrated excellence in the study of science.

 
Robert L. Heestand Memorial Scholarship Science or Education

Preference will be given to students interested in biology-related fields. Second preference will be given to students showing interest in any other field of science or education.

 
Stephanie Heestand Memorial Scholarship Any area Preference will be given to students with special needs to further their education after high school. Second preference will be given to students who are entering an area of study related to special needs. The scholarship will not be awarded if applicants do not meet the above guidelines.

Kenneth R. Henline Memorial Scholarship

 

 Agriculture, Carpentry or Construction field of study None

Pauline & Delbert Henschen Scholarship

 

 Any area None
Hirzel Canning Company Scholarship Any area Preference will be given, but not limited to, a major in food production through science and agriculture.
In addtion, preference will be given to students demonstrating scholastic aptitude and financial need.

Carolyn & Herb Hollister Music Scholarship

 

 Music, Chorus & Drama Preference will be given to student's demonstrating financial need.
Robert J. Johnson Music Scholarship

Music or Music Ed.

2 or 4 year school

 None

KK Strong Memorial Scholarship

 

 Education None

John & Margaret Kurfess Scholarship

 Any area

Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need.

 
Brett E. Lahman Scholarship Any area at a four-year college The recipient must have received a letter in varsity baseball, softball, or soccer. In addition, preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need.

Aaron J. Lawniczak Memorial Scholarship

 

 Any area Preference will be given to students who have participated in sports activities during high school.

Marion & Naomi Layman Scholarship

 

 Any Area of Study Student who has demonstrated consistent support of the Eastwood Communities.

Duff and June Madaras Scholarship

 

 Early Childhood Education Preference will be given to students demonstrating scholastic aptitude and financial need.
Lawrence J. McCormic Memorial Scholarship Any area

The student must have actively participated in various band activities during high school and have a sound interest and positive attitude toward further schooling.

Ronald A. Meier Scholarship

 

 Any area Preference will be based on academic achievement, school activities, and community service.
Timothy and Kathy Meyer Trust Scholarship Any area Preference given to students attending Owens Community College
Donald & Irene Michel Scholarship Even Years - Agriculture, Natural Resources, Environmental Studies, or Wildlife
Odd Years - Nursing or other medical field

None

Hal and Peggy Moore Scholarship Any area Preference to full time students at any Ohio 4 year public university.  2 EHS Seniors, 1 College Sophomore, 1 College Junior, and 1 College Senior (Max - 2 to any one student)

James R Opelt Scholarship

 

 Theater, Drama, or Music None
Anthony J. Pacewicz Memorial Scholarship Any area

Preference will be given to students active in sports during high school.

 
Margaret E. Philo-Schroeder Scholarship

1st Preference- Elementary Education

2nd Preference- Middle or High School Education

 Preference will be given to students entering elementary education. Secondary preference will be given to students entering education at the middle school or high school levels. Applicants should include a list of scholarships received as of the date of application.

John Poth/Raichard Lowrie Memorial Scholarship

 

 Any area at 4 year college Preference will be given to a student who has demonstrated leadership in the classroom, extracurricular activities, and in the community.

Cody Rahe Scholarship

 Any area of study

No Specific criteria
Selzer Family Scholarship Any area of study

 

Student must have been in Eastwood Musical for all four years.

 

Sons of the American Legion Freedom Squadron 183 Scholarship

 Any area First Preference will be given to a student who has a family member (living or deceased) who is a veteran or a member of a legion organization.

Wayne and Esther Speck Scholarship

Nathan Swartz Memorial Scholarship Medical Fields None
Webster Elementary Scholarship Any area

 

This was established by Webster PTO and is available to senior students who attended Webster for at least 1 year.  Selection is based on a 500 or less word essay (one page) typed and double spaced.  APPLICATION IN GUIDANCE HALLWAY.
Howard (Ted) Whalen Jr. Memorial Scholarship Education – preference History GPA 3.0

The following scholarships are available for Eastwood FFA students. Students interested in these scholarships should contact the FFA Advisor. The recipients for these scholarships will be announced at the Annual FFA Banquet.
