School Closure - Community Email #2

During the week of March 16-March 20 we will use online blizzard bags for Monday and Tuesday. After that we will be working to provide a more interactive series of lessons for students.

We will be on Spring Break from Monday March 23-March 27.

We will be back in online sessions beginning Monday March 30-Friday April 3.

The Governor put out a very difficult to understand message that has been very confusing. Schools are permitted to stay open on Monday March 16, but after speaking with our team, we have been preparing for this eventuality all week. We all felt that brining students in for one day next week would be ineffective and that many would keep kids home anyway.

I wanted to get this out right away. I am working on a more detailed message that will be released later tonight.

I do want to apologize to parents who are going to have childcare issues. I cannot begin to understand all of the hardships this is going to put on families. The Governor has been warning of this for the last week to ten days, but that does not make it any easier. I wish we could be more helpful, but social distancing is the reason he closed schools.

I will have more details in the next hour or so.
