What is ParentSquare?
ParentSquare is Eastwood Local Schools' communication platform for district, school and classroom communications. It brings school-to-home communication together in one convenient place and allows families to receive information by email, text and/or the ParentSquare app.
Is ParentSquare replacing Remind?
Yes. ParentSquare replaces Remind as Eastwood's primary school-to-home communication platform because Remind is being discontinued. ParentSquare provides many of the communication features families are familiar with while adding additional features and communication options.
How do I activate my ParentSquare account?
Eastwood will send parents and legal guardians an invitation by email and/or text message. Simply follow the link in the invitation to activate your account. You can also register through the ParentSquare app or ParentSquare website using the email address or cell phone number you have on file with Eastwood.
Why didn't I receive a ParentSquare invitation?
ParentSquare invitations are sent to the email addresses and cell phone numbers Eastwood has on file in FinalForms for parents and legal guardians. If you did not receive an invitation, first check your spam or junk folder. If you still cannot locate it, contact your child's school to verify that Eastwood has your correct email address and cell phone number.
Do I have to activate my ParentSquare account to receive Eastwood communications?
No. Parents and guardians whose contact information is in Eastwood's student information system will still receive school communications even if they have not activated their ParentSquare account. However, we strongly encourage you to activate your account. Registration gives you access to the full ParentSquare experience, including the mobile app, notification and language preferences, two-way communication, forms, sign-ups and other interactive features.
Do I need to download the ParentSquare app?
The app is not required, but we highly recommend it! The free ParentSquare app provides the easiest way to access Eastwood communications, receive notifications and keep school information in one convenient place. Search ParentSquare in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Can I use ParentSquare on a computer?
Yes. ParentSquare can be accessed from a computer or mobile web browser in addition to the ParentSquare app. Visit ParentSquare and sign in using your account information.
I have children in more than one Eastwood school. Do I need separate ParentSquare accounts?
No. You only need one ParentSquare account. Your account should connect you with all of your Eastwood children and the schools they attend. If one of your children or schools is missing from your account, contact Eastwood so we can verify that your contact information is correctly associated with each child.
How do I see information for my different Eastwood schools?
Your ParentSquare account brings information for all of your children and schools together. In the mobile app, you can select the school you would like to view to see information specific to that building. You do not need to switch schools simply to receive notifications because communications for all of your children will come through your ParentSquare account.
Should I connect my ParentSquare account with my spouse or another parent/guardian?
If each parent or guardian has their own email address and/or cell phone number on file with Eastwood, we recommend maintaining separate ParentSquare accounts. This allows each person to receive communications and manage their own notification preferences. You do not need to combine accounts simply because you share a child.
Why don't I see all of my children in ParentSquare?
This can happen if your contact information is different for each child in Eastwood's student information system or if you have accidentally created more than one ParentSquare account. Contact your child's school if you are missing a child or school so we can verify your information.
Will other parents be able to see my contact information?
No. Each parent/guardian has their own private ParentSquare account. Parents associated with the same student may receive information related to that student, but ParentSquare does not provide one parent with the other parent's private account information.
Can grandparents, babysitters or other family members use my ParentSquare account?
Please do not share your ParentSquare username or password. Your account may provide access to information specific to your child and should only be used by you.
I want to receive district alerts but i am not the parent of a current eastwood student. how can i see up to receive delays and cancellations?
The ELS Community Group: District Posts & Alerts is designed for community members who are not Eastwood parents or staff but would like to stay connected with the district. Community members who would like to receive Eastwood district news, school closing and delay notifications, emergency alerts and other district information can join the ELS Community Group instead. Those who do not have a current Eastwood student enrolled in the district may sign up for the ELS Community Group here.
Can I choose how often ParentSquare sends me notifications?
Yes! ParentSquare allows you to customize your notification settings. Instant sends routine post notifications as they are published. Digest combines routine posts into one daily notification, reducing the number of notifications you receive throughout the day. Important: Direct messages, alerts and other time-sensitive communications are still delivered immediately, even if you select Digest. See the Modify Notifications tab for customizing your notification.
I'm receiving too many ParentSquare notifications. What should I do?
Try changing your routine notifications from Instant to Digest. This allows you to receive routine ParentSquare posts together at the end of the day instead of receiving a separate notification each time something is posted. You can customize your notification settings for email, text and app notifications within your ParentSquare account.
English is not my preferred language. Can ParentSquare translate messages?
Yes. ParentSquare provides automatic translation in more than 190 languages. You can select your preferred language in your account settings, and ParentSquare will translate communications into that language. Translation also works with two-way communication, allowing families and Eastwood staff to communicate even when they prefer different languages.

ParentSquare is primarily a communication platform, not Eastwood's learning management system or gradebook (Schoology). Teachers may use ParentSquare to share reminders, classroom updates or information about upcoming assignments, but it is not intended to replace Schoology for coursework and grades.
Is ParentSquare for students, too?
