The mission of Eastwood Local Schools involves preparing students to address the challenges that shape their destiny. This involves meeting the needs of individual students within the school environment. Through collaboration and utilization of a team approach, the educators of Eastwood Local Schools create and implement programs specific to the needs of each child.  Eastwood Local School District ensures equal opportunity for all district students identified as gifted to receive services offered by the district.

The State of Ohio’s definition of gifted children refers to those who perform or show potential for performing at remarkably high levels of accomplishment when compared to others of their age, experience, or environment and who are identified under division (A), (B), (C), or (D) of Section 3324.03 of the Ohio Revised Code.  All gifted services in the Eastwood Local School District are delivered in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code and the Ohio Administrative Code. Currently, the State of Ohio provides school districts with only partial funding for identifying gifted students and employing or contracting gifted education staff. The Eastwood Local School District strives to offer a continuum of services to serve the diverse needs of gifted students within our available resources.
