The parties in the Doe v. Ohio Department of Education class action have submitted a proposed settlement to the U.S. District Court for approval. The first step in the approval process of the settlement is to provide notice of the proposed settlement to affected students and their parents.  Please refer to the Doe v. Ohio Department of Education Notice for details.


Elementary & Secondary Special Education Child Find

The Eastwood Local School District provides special education programming for students with disabilities ages 5 through 21. Educators work collaboratively with families, community agencies, and support personnel to provide an appropriate education to meet the specific needs of each student. If you know a child between the ages of 5 and 21 who may have special needs, please contact Melissa Wagoner at 419.833.6411.

Primaria y Secundaria Educación Infantil Especial Buscar

El Distrito Escolar Local Eastwood ofrece programas de educación especial para los estudiantes con discapacidad de entre 5 y 21. Los educadores trabajan en colaboración con las familias, agencias de la comunidad y personal de apoyo para proporcionar una educación apropiada para satisfacer las necesidades específicas de cada alumno. Preschool Child Find

The Eastwood Local School District provides a preschool program for children with special needs. The preschool classes are taught by licensed teachers and follow a developmentally appropriate curriculum.  Classes are half-day, Tuesday through Friday, and are located at Pemberville Elementary and the Webster building. If you know a child between the ages of 3 and 5 who may have special needs, please contact Sena Hildebrand, Wood County Educational Service Center, at 419.354.9010.

An important aspect of the preschool program is the involvement of peer role models. Children participating as peers are not identified as having special needs and must demonstrate typically developing skills. There is a sliding fee schedule for children serving as typically developing peers. If you know a child between the ages of 3 and 5 who would be appropriate as a peer for the children with special needs, please contact Sena Hildebrand, Wood County Educational Service Center, at 419.354.9010.

Niño Preescolar Encuentre

El Distrito Escolar Local Eastwood ofrece un programa preescolar para niños con necesidades especiales. Las clases de preescolar son impartidas por profesores con licencia y siguen un currículo apropiado para el desarrollo. Las clases son de medio día, de martes a viernes, y se encuentran en Pemberville Primaria y el edificio Webster. Un aspecto importante del programa de preescolar es la participación de modelos de pares. Los niños que participen como iguales, no se identifican con necesidades especiales, y deben demostrar las habilidades de desarrollo típico. Hay una lista de tarifas de deslizamiento para los niños que sirven como compañeros de desarrollo típico. Usage of Federal Funds

The Eastwood Local School District receives notification of their entitlement of federal funds allocated in accordance with Title I and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Public law 92-142. Utilization of the funds is designated to provide services and programs for disadvantaged and disabled students.  Persons who wish to comment on how to utilize these designated funds are welcome and encouraged to contact Melissa Wagoner, Director of Student Services at 419-833-6411 ext. 1172 between 9:00 am and 3:00 p.m.
